I think if you have had more than £500 in the last year you can claim them back unde "hardship" ruling....
You should be able to find more info on Martin's thread.0 -
If it's a Premier Current Account then for an authorised overdraft the fee is 50p a day (max.£5 per month) and if you exceed your overdraft limit the fee is £5 per day. It's difficult to see how you have racked up£325 in a month!:beer:0

can you actually reclaim this charges back or not? I am a bit confused about all this charges.0

Claiming them back is one thing, but the first priority is not to get them in the first place! Or in your current situation, not to get any more.
Break down those £325 of charges for us. Made up of what?
Unauthorised overdraft charges? Direct Debit charges? other?0 -
so can you take A.L to court for an unauthorised overdraft fees?
I took some money out one night out, and put the money back 2 days later when I realised, but I didn't know they will charge me £10 for an O.D of £2.80. So by now it's £140 I paid for this mistake.0 -
Hi,
I could do with some advice. I currently bank with Lloyds TSB and to say they are a joke is an understatment. I used to get charged either £90 or £180 a month is I was over my overdraft but this was charged at £30 a day for a max of 3 days. Since that changed because of the 'fairness rules' my monthly payments have been a max of about £50 - UNTIL NOW!!!! I knew I went over my overdraft by £26 in Jan with Christmas etc etc and knew the charge was £15 a day but thought this was still for a max of 3 days - this is now for a max of 10!!!! I was over my overdraft for 9 days and with a £15 initial fee for this, I was charged £150 fees and £25 for a failed direct debit. The charge was taken out on Weds after I had spent some (necessary) money on monday and has put me £192 over my overdraft. I have previously spoken to someone at Lloyds about this and was told that Lloyds TSB will never take my money if it puts me over my overdraft and they never have, but I realised that they took my money for charges on Weds and have held off paying for the items until today so I guess, in their eyes, it is not them that has put me over my overdraft but my spending. I am on a hardship loan from Lloyds and, as such, am not able to extend my overdraft, therefore will rack up another £150 of charges and this will probably continue for months to come.
I am going to contact them but will be very surprised if they just offer up any help so has anyone got any suggestions on how I can resolve this and also, which bank woul have the cheapest rates as I am definitely looking at swapping VERY soon!!!!
Thanks in advance0
