HSBC/MCS Abroad ?????????

Hi All ,
I had to leave the UK immediately due to circumstances back home in the year 2006 , When i left i had a loan with HSBC which has now been taken by Metropolitian collection services ltd (MCS),
Though i have intension of clearing the loan , MCS has been sendind scary letters almost everymonth , I aranged with MCS to Pay £30 PM due to my standings , i even offered settlement which wasnt accepted.
MCS has now terminated our contract after 2 yrs of paying £30 PM and wants full money . I cannot afford to pay and they have written the matter would be taken legal .
Pls help if someone has come accross similar situation.
I'm not an UK citizen and do not live in UK since 2006.
