lg chocolate help

hi, i bought a lg kg800 chocolate, on ebay,and i think it needs new firmware, so i then bought a usb cable of ebay,now my pc doesnt find it, i'm on vista, any clues??

you might save alot of hassle taking it to shop. One of those little phone shops. Maybe £10 15? On your phone you will likely need to set something in the connections. Have a look at manual or look at manual on lg website. I have a nokia and need to set the connection properties of the phone before PC can pick up. I have no idea about installing firmware though.

when you 'flash' (or update the software/firmware) on phones, it usually involves putting the phone in a service mode and having special programs, correct firmware files and correct data cables.

its also worth making a backup of the important areas of the phone (ie the GDFS on sony ericssons) so if anything does go wrong, at least you have a chance of the phone working again

I too have one of these phones and as far as I can tell it is un-flashable .. at least the one I have is!

Anyway I didn't get on with the Choc so I've gone back to my trusty old RAZR V3 .. now that is flashable! ..
