Apple Safari 4 public beta

Apple have released the public beta of Safari 4 for Mac OS X and Windows. It has a ton of new features and is the only browser in the world that passes the Acid3 test (even Firefox screws it up).

So far I'm pretty impressed with it. It seems to be very fast and stable on my Mac.

Give it a try and see what you think:

Opera 10 does as well and I've had no problems yet even though its in alpha stage.

I can only report my own experience, but I've been using it since yesterday and it's working 100% for me so far. I haven't noticed any compatibility issues and it seems very fast and stable.

Some of the new features are very nice; browsing through your history with coverflow is particularly impressive. If you're currently using Firefox, Camino or Opera, it wouldn't do any harm to install it and try it out for some non-critical browsing.

I came across some benchmark tests done on the new Safari beta. Javascript rendering is 42 times faster than IE7, 8 times faster than IE8 and 3.5 times faster than Firefox. It's even faster than Mozilla's experimental Minefield browser.

If you have growlmail enabled it crashes mail completely. It also doesn't work with 1Password - so that's a showstopper for me. What I saw looked great though, so I look forward to getting the final release.
