Missed credit card payment

Hi everyone!
Lately I missed 1 payment on my credit card. Missed two days coz I never received my CC bill from the bank and coz of family troubles just didnt think of having to worry of not receiving my monthly bill. The amount is just 5 pounds. Will it worsen my credit rating forever or i can do smthg about it?

No not forever.

One late payment is unlike to have a significant effect.

i am really so worried coz i dont really understand the system.
i was hoping for mortgage in next year. does it mean i can forgt about it now? it is only 2 days missed payment!

Should really effect you much if its the first time you missed one. also its not really missed be just down as a late payment. you will proabably get charged about £12 though.

A single late payment shouldn't make a huge difference, as long as its rectified asap

Usually the really negative stuff starts to happen after a few missed payments, such as not being able to get shiny new mortgage offers IMHO

The solution, in future, is to make the minimmum payment by Direct Debit each month and then make any additional payment you like.
With a Direct Debit the Credit Card Company are responsible for taking the minimum payment.
