I had an answerphone message this afternoon from Tenerife Resorts to say that I had been "awarded" 7 nights free accomodation... is it definitely a scam to get you to look round timeshares?

Entered and heres hoping I get a phonecall from them before the 28th and ill give them what for!!!

they cahrge a £59 "admin fee" to book you into accom. in canaries. Condition is that you spend 1/2 day at timeshare presentation presumably where they try the hardsell. i have just made arrangements with them. Will let you know how i get on. Have no intention of buying.

so when are you going?

I got a voicemessage yesterday from them saying I had won, but not sure if I am convinced or not!!!

well I haven't followed up the message they left me on sunday. I think if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Besides, if you check out independent reviews of the timeshare place they put you in, it sounds like a real dive. My holiday time is too precious to waste in such a place, being hassled by timeshare salesmen....

I had a call yesterday to say "was I looking for holidays in Tenerife". No mention that I won but they said that the accommodation would be free for 7 days if I pay for flights and agree to go to a talk on Timeshare. She then proceeded to tell me all about Timeshare which at this point I put the phone down. Don't think I'm going to take up the offer though.

:mad: :mad: I got the winning phone call today saying that i had won 7 nights accom and for £29.50 each they would pick me up at the airport. I would have to pay for my own flights. The first thing that I said was that the competition did not close until 28/02. Silence followed then she told me that the competion closed yesterday. As posted above I would have to give up 1/2 a day to attend a presentation. At this point I mentioned that the last time i was invited to a timeshare presentation after 5 1/2 hours and not being allowed to leave I put the rep in a head lock and I was then allowed to leave. I would never attend another timeshare presentation.

She thanked me for my time and I said give my prize to another unsuspecting MUG and put the phone down.:mad: :mad:
