can any1 help me re laptop pleeeeeeeease

hi people,
My laptop has a problem!
The start button, where i access all programs , control panel etc is no longer working, i casn't click on it and also if i press the windows button on the keyboard it no longer 'pops up'. Also, none of the buttons or links on the bottom bar are working , therefore any programs i have open i cant click on and i cant click on the battery bar etc to see how long i have left. I hope this makes sense!?
I can get onto aol as i have a shortcut on the desktop but the main problem i have is i cant shut the laptop down as i have to go through 'start' and then onto shut down,
can anyone offer me any help at all?? x :j

Perhaps a trip to the local computer repair shop?

Turn it off with the power button, if that fails remove the battery.
Then start it up again, it will complain a bit but may fix your problem.
Then if that works do a security scan.
Malwarebytes / Superantispyware are the ones usually recommended.

Does your my computer look different? Can you get to run? Can you make folders on your desktop? can you get to task manager ctrl+alt+delete? sounds like a virus.
  • thanks people, i have removed the battery and i am now back on and working, maybe a trip to the repair shop is not needed John Gray!

Pleased to hear it, suggest you do still do an antivirus/anti spyware scan and check that you have all the latest windows patches from Windows update.
