If anyone can beat this i'd love to hear!

Also, can anyone advise on baggage allowances? I know my infant won't get an allowance but we'll need to take along her travel cot (fairly heavy) and a buggy - what happens in cases like these?

Thanks Sloppychops! In the end i booked the outgoing with Thomson and the incoming with Monarch as the times/dates suited better.
