Hiya
Hoping someone can help me. I've recently been told by my employer that my new annual leave is going down from 22 to 19.5 including my 8 bank holidays I work 12 hour nightshifts 3 one week 4 the next and all public holidays I'm rota'd in for normally 4 b/h's a year of which I don't get paid for aware not a legal requirement but it's just not making sense how can the government put the holidays up yet mines are going down? I've been searching the web to confirm this works the same for rota'd night shift staff and have came accross 1 thats says due to the change everyone is entitled to there statutory days off plus either bank holidays or time off in leui. Does this mean that really I should be getting 23.5 days holiday? Way I've read it is I get my 19.5 (legal requirement) plus 4 days in leui for the shifts I work as bank holidays cannot be included?
Any help would be much appreciated

You work on average 3.5 days per week (26*3)+(26*4) /52 =3.5
19.5/3.5 =5.57 (5.6 weeks) holiday per year which is the statutory minimum of time you are required to have as paid holiday per year from 1st April 2009. The current minimum is 4.8 weeks per year.
The company is not required to pay you for bank holidays/pay you overtime or give you time in lei for them unless your contract states they will.

I think you can be assured that guide is correct as it's a .gov."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0
