  • in superdrug there is a leaflet with pantene which requires, i think, buying some of their range. you then send yr receipt to the HAIR GROUP and get a free cut and blow dry.
    check leaflet for details.
  • when I was a poor poor student, I used to get my hair cut by student hair dressers - toni & guy etc.
the hair style usually ended up pretty good, because the students were watched over by pros, but if you got a very new newbie, it would sometimes take a number of hours...
deffo recommend it for a cheap cut though - ask around at the salons.

I often do this £10 for a cut £20 for a colour. I would suggest getting first slot of the day to prevent a late appointment due to the guarenteed overrun, but still be prepared for a 3 hour haircut. If you've got the time though well worth it excellent cut for a bargain price, the boss watches over them and checks every snip, then goes over it themselves at the end.

Most hair places that teach students will have student model days or centers, I know Vidal Sassoon have one just near Bond Street station but you need to set aside half a day and bring something to read!! plus be "prepared for change" and don't take that lightly! the end result will look great but will be....different!

Toni and Guy also have two schools that I know of as well as teaching in their salons but they are not as cheap/affordable as VS.

Other salons that do model days I have been to are Graham Webb, Aveda, Super Cuts and basicly most high street salons, don't be afraid to just go in and ask "are you looking for hair models" as some advertise in windows and others have the learner-hairdressers ask their friends and relatives.
