in Credit cards
I am getting a 0% balance transfer card but want to take on some of the debt on my husbands credit card as I am better to keep my eye on things!
Does anyone know if this is possible? Ive had these cards before but never noticed.

I remember Halifax trying to push this actually when I activated my account back in October 2008. I remember them asking if I wanted to transfer a balance from a family member or a member of my house hold so they could benefit from the BT rate. This was after I told them I had nothing to BT and planned on enjoying the 0% new purchase promo.0

Yes, generally speaking Credit Card companies allow you to transfer balances from cards belonging to your husband, your friends, or just Dave from down the pub
However, be aware that once the debt is on your card you become legally responsible for making repayments and cannot simply request the debt be passed back to the person who actually run it up in the first place.

If OP does this will it not release the ability for him to run up further debts on the card?
Might it not be better to keep an eye on the balance making sure that he spends a lot less and pays a lot more?0 -
Or cut up his card!"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." George Bernard Shaw:p0
