Cheap/Free Norton 360 substitute

Does anyone have any recomendations? My Norton has just expired and I really can't afford to pay £60 to renew! Not sure what I should be looking for really

TIA!

    Hello thevicster

I'll move your thread to the 'Techie Stuff' board.

I would suggest NOT using AVG

I agree with Tom on AVIRA though
    Also ~ PCTOOLS FIREWALL
    MALWAREBYTES and SUPERANTISPYWARE (secondary scanners)
and FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plugin

Many thanks for all your suggestions - I'm going to have a go with AVIRA, will this cover buying online or would I need to install something else?

    1. Get Firefox instead of Internet Explorer
    2. AVG or Avast for virus
    3. ZoneAlarm for firewall
    4. Spybot for adware
    5. CCleaner to keep things running smooth and clean

All above are free in their basic forms and I have used (and still using) all of them and never had a single problem with any of them
