clear credit card debt ?

does any one have any knowledge of the credit card act 2007 ? a company has contacted me and offerd to clear any balance over £2500 on any credit card i took out before april 2007 as they were apparently mis-sold ,the agreement was wrong ? they also want £995 up front but say this will be refunded when the balance is cleared ,sounds to good to be true? does any one no if this is a scam or legit?

Sounds like a scam to me. Anyway, if you were missold (probably not), you could sort it yourself. Sounds like someone wants to make a grand out of everybody already deeply in debt.
Steer clear.
