in Credit cards
I have posted this on the DFW forum but thought I might get more advice here.
Right I am mad Mad MAD!!!!!
I am trying desperately to pay stuff off and we have paid off £12k of debt since last June which I am soooo proud of
We moved house in March last year and informed the council etc.
Most of our credit cards are 18% and I am trying to get a 0% deal to BT but keep getting declined, I got a paper copy of my credit report in November from Experian that didn't show anything untoward except, I wasn't on the electoral roll, I phoned up the council who said I was and that the records would be updated on 1st December.
So last week I think, right, I'll apply for a virgin card, but I think I have been declined as I haven't heard anything.
I have just gone onto credit expert to view my file online and not I am STILL not on the electoral roll with them and they have me down as living at my old address still. Everything else looks perfect, green 0's for everything, I am using 18% of my available credit apparently, but strangely it says there are no records of any searches on my file for the last 12 months (although my paper copy said different?)
I have tried phoning Experian but it just says they are too busy, so I have emailed them, but what else can I do?
I am so mad that I have a perfect looking report, yet I am constantly being declined for credit for what I can only think of is not being on the electoral roll which I am!!!!!!

Ask your council for a letter proving you are on the ER and then send this to Experian so they can update your file.0

Have you asked to be taken off the roll at your earlier address................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0

Have you and Clio had a little argument? :rotfl:0 -

Congratulations on turning things round.

You cannot reapply to Virgin for another 6 months, so if your application is turned down, I would appeal the decision on these grounds, enclosing a council doc to show you're on the electoral rollPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

He did not like me telling Yorkshireman ( For whom I have a very high regard ) that he was wrong.
Yorkshire man had said something like:-
The annual rate is 19.9%
He then got a Monthly Rate
He then converted this to an annual rate of 18.3%.
I was not to keen on this method and said it was wrong.
Clio told me Wot was Wot.
I thanked him for his post
He apologised in a follow up post
But he did not edit out the adverse comment.
I am well disposed toward Clio and even more so toward Yorkshireman.
So the signature line is for amusement only................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
