Would i have protection if all went wrong

I'm thinking of taking a risk & buying a car from a second hand car auction,
If i pay with my nat west gold credit card would i have protection if something went wrong say a week later etc?

If bought as seen and no warranty I would think you would find it difficult to get the credit card company to reimburse you.
My advice is unless you know a lot about cars don't do it.
