MS word find and replace/Converting word to HTML

I want to simplify conversion of documents for from Word to HTML. What I'd like to be able to do is find all instances of a particular style in word and insert appropriate HTML heading levels. e.g. find all instances of the style Heading 2 and insert <h1> at the beginning of the paragraph and </h1> at the end.

Is there a simple way to do this. Thought of using wildcards, but of course I don't know how long each occurrence is going to be.

Started trying to do this with macros, but I haven't used macros since winword 2.0 and have kind of forgotten how to do this :D

I'm trying to produce clean HTML out of this to use with CSS.

  • Hi Krishna,
this looks complicated. Whenever I have MS issues I tend to go straight to the specialist area for help - I would suggest trying Microsoft forums that have a specific set of wiz kids and geeks who know this stuff inside out. Here's the link if you fancy running this past them. http://www.msofficeforums.com/
    Good luck

Found exactly what I was looking for here. Seems like Microsoft decided to use this very thing as an example on using loops in macros/ :j
