please help me i have missed and late payments

hi i have a cc payment due on 20th and do not get paid until 27th i have had a bad month which i won't bore you with but it has left me short. when does a late payment become a missed payment. as i was going to make my payment on the 27th. i understand i will be charged for this but will they class is as a late or missed payment. please help. i have a few outstanding debts which i am struggling with and i don't know what to do i have just burried my head in the sand.

IMO a missed payment only occurs when you have not made a payment by the time your next statement is produced. My advice is to pop over to the Debt Free Wannabe board and ask for help there.

I am normally over on the debt free wannabee (DFW) board, as you mention other outstanding debts you may want to pop over there and post more about your situation and we can help to talk you through what your options are.

The first thing you would need to do it put together a statement of affairs (calculator at www.makesenseofcards.com) and post that up in a new thread on DFW forum so that we can see where you are at and what sort of financial shape you are in, we can also help your money to go a bit further.

On the payment for this credit card, if you pay late just this once and then make all other minimum payments on time all that will happen is that you will get a single late payment mark on your credit file and you may also get a charge from your credit card you could try giving them a call to see what they say if this is a one off.

I would urge you to pop over and see us on DFW, if you would rather not then I will post a link to FREE to use debt advice agencies, never use a fee paying company to help you sort out your debts, the services that charge for can be got for free or done yourself for free.

...and give your CCC a polite call telling them your payment is coming but it'll be a tad late due to a few life problems.

They'll make a note on the account and if they charge you you can always phone back and ask for a goodwill gesture. Again, keep it very polite.

I'm assuming this isn't a regular occurrence of course. Either way, let them know.

If you're going to have the money on the 27th, might you be able to get a temporary overdraft extension from you bank to cover the payment? Presumably you're just paying the minimum?
