If I wanted just a viewing card, how would that work? I have the box etc at the min, I could get the HD offer but I worried about my job at the min and wouldnt want to commit but I would like the chance later, If I took just the card now, would that rule me out of any further offers as I wouldn't be classed as a new customer?

Not entirely sure what you are asking. Sky+HD needs a new box, you can't get HD just via an upgraded viewing card.
You could buy a Sky+ HD box without subscribing to Sky HD, I think that would be around £300.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Yes I know, I have an old regular Sky Box here, However at the min i'd be classed as a new subscriber, however if I got a subscription only at the min would that rule me out of new subscriber only offers in the future if I wanted to take one out,0 -
I don't know, suggest you ring Sky ask and get it in writing.
If you were to get a Freesat from Sky card for £20 then I doubt you would be considered a subscriber and you would get a fare few channels. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

No but you can get a card from Sky, that will give you a regular Sky sub and because you didn't get any equipment you are not tied to a 12 month contract0 -
To get a card only you have to phone Sky and ask for a "second hand contract". However, that will make you a subscriber so you definitely won't get any "new subscriber" deals thereafter. You WILL be tied to a 12 month contract (read it before you sign and return it).0

The alternative is that sometimes they have some deals to lure customers back which are on 6 month contracts but I am not sure if they do them anymore0 -
I thought if you had no equipment from them there was no tie, Its like a mobile phone contract, you can get these sim only deals and are only tied to 30 days. The reason you are tied to a contract if you get a free mobile is to pay the towards the handset aswell, But if you get no equipment from Sky where is this money going? I suppose to the same place you pay some guy £60 to connect a Sky box. RIP OFF, and I dare say even though you are tied to a contract and your existing Sky box goes tits up during your contract, even though you never actually got a free Sky box they will charge you £60 to get an installer out?0
