Travel insurance help

Hi all,
I'm a medical student going to Australia to study medicine for 8 weeks total (6 weeks studying and 2 weeks travelling around). I need to arrange travel insurance for this period. There are several companies offering specialist cover for medical electives however they only seem to give backpackers cover. This means that there is a limit of about £200 for personal items etc out of £1000 for personal belongings. I'm going to stay with family for the first 6 weeks. I want to take my ipod, camera etc so obviously this will go over the cover. Can you suggest any way to get around this? Should I get additional insurance to cover the extra belongings or will this not work?
Many thanks.

Hiya
You could add cover away from home on your household contents policy? You then can specify the limit you want

Don't say you are backpacking - it's more of a business travel trip for studying abroad - no need to emphaises the two weeks "off"Let the wind free, where e'r you may be.0
