Credit card debt recovery

Hi, can anyone help, I have had a phone call from a company offering to cancel credit card debt for a fee. They are asking £495 in advance to cancel debt on one credit card and say that a loophole in the law enables them to do this on credit agreements taken out before 2007. Anyone heard of this?
