Carphone Warehouse Help Needed

bought a phone on TMobile contract in dec been back to the shop 3 x as I cant get any signal at all where I live. They have checked the sim, checked the phone etc etc but kept insisting they could not do anything. Anyway went to shop again today and was determined to get results. After a 10 min conversation the man at Carphone Warehouse said that TMobile had to cancel contract, OK says I can I have the number for them then...Oh Im sorry we dont have their number!!!He must have been able to sense I was about to throw a hissy fit, so quickly said but I will look it up for you. Came home phoned TMobile to be told that I had no 3g coverage in my area but they could put me on 2g coverage but it is still not very good. To which I said no way Im paying for a phone with 3g, give me 3g or cancel. She said Im sorry nothing we can do you still have to pay for a phone you cannot use, or go back to CW!!!Phoned CW Head Office lovely lady said go back to CW, they then have to phone TM if they confirm that coverage is non existent they will cancel.......have you ever heard anything like it? Getting on my T*TS. Sorry for the moan but have nagged OH to death already about it. Im just really stressing out that Im gonna have to pay a monthly fee for a b***dy phone I cant use. Does anyone have any advice please...

No need to blame T-mobile, They didnt sell you the phone, CPW did, Cant blame T-mobile.

T-mobile (online and in store) also have a coverage checker, so can see what the recetion for 2g and 3g is like and advise accordingly, wheras I belive Carphone does not

Unfortunatly all phone companies will not guarantee coverage in all places at all times. You can use the phone at home, but in 2G mode it may not be what you want but it will work.

Did you specifically ask if it would work at your home when you bought itm if you did you may have been mis sold depending on how they answered, if you didn't then poor as CPW service may have been you were probably not mis sold, and your relying on the goodwill of the retailer to return it and cancel the contract.

Yup your right, CPW never do a check on coverage, Im sure they say they do, But they dont, its all about getting the sale with them.

You can check coverage on T-Mobile's website so CPW have no excuse for not checking.

During my time with T-mob handled plenty of calls where CPW never bothered to check broadband and or 2g/3g coverage.
