Time waster on ebay!

Hopefully this is possible. I sold a large bulky item on ebay for £1.00. If the buyer collects this item, he has an absolute bargain. However, I have sent him the invoice with the address and asking him to confirm when he will be collecting. I then got a reply to say "can I have your address". This has gone on for over 2 weeks and still no confirmation as to when he is collecting the item. It appears that its just a timewaster and I now want to get rid of the item.

My question is:- Can I just cancel the transaction? I dont really want to register him as a non paying bidder as I suspect that he will pay but then take weeks to collect the thing. I have excellent 100% positive feedback on over 500 transactions and I don't want to be given a neg from this buyer.

What are my options?
Matched betting proceeds so far: £505.00

Your only option is to start the NPB dispute, you can't cancel a completed auction.

  • Hi, I've just experienced a kinda similar scenario, except this time my buyer - for a local collection/pick-up only item - is registered in Hungary. They've chosen to ignore all my emails reminding them that my item, as per the listing, will not be posted in the UK, let alone Hungary...yet still they keep asking for my contact details. Clearly not understanding the rules or the listing...or some kind of low-level scammer.

If I were you - if they haven't yet paid, and your listing clearly stated collection only - I'd go ahead and report as an unpaid item, which should flush them out one or the other. At least then you've set the ball rolling in terms of ebay taking action and registering the buyer as a non-paying bidder.
