Firefox cut and paste using mouse?

I've recently downloaded Firefox. I'm having problems using my mouse to cut and paste text. I can cut by right clicking my mouse but when I want to paste the text into a document I have to click on edit, unlike Internet Explorer where I could do it all using the mouse. Am I missing something?

So if you right click where you want to paste something, the paste option isn't on the menu? It is for me but I am on firefox on a mac dunno if that changes anything
otherwise you can use ctl+c (copy) and then ctl+v (paste)Kavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

Weird, just for your info, I'm on a PC and Right Click Paste works fine for me.
Here's something posted a while back you may want to read.

Yes you've got it, the 'copy' is there when I highlight and right click text, but when I want to paste it to a document and right click, 'paste' isn't there. I can use crl+v just seems odd that I can't use the mouse?
Its not a major problem just annoying when you've been used to doing it one way.0 -

It's on the right-click menu for me on a PC. Only thing I can think is that you're not right-clicking over a text box on the web page when you want to paste0 -

I may have misunderstood - what application are you pasting into, firefox or something else0 -
Thanks everyone, the cut and paste using the mouse is working fine on this site. When I try pasting into a forum I use a lot (Yuku) it only works when I place the cursor in the very top left corner of the text box. At least I can see what's happening now. It's just different from when I used IE.0

I've got an issue with pasting from Firefox as well.
My online banking only keeps statements for a couple of months, so I always used to copy and paste into Word. This was fine with IE - it would save the formatting as a table, so it pasted very well.
With Firefox, pasting from the online statements is useless - no columns are preserved and it just prints as text, which is just a mess and practically unreadable.
Is there a way to preserve the table when pasting from Firefox?0 -
That shouldn't matter, should it?
Yes, as it is the program you are using you want the text pasted into that is handling the pasting.
In Firefox you highlight the text and copy it, it just places it in the clipboard (actually a file on the disk drive), then when you go to the program you want to paste it into, that program knows the clipboard has something in it and lets you paste.
Now if you are pasting into Firefox, then it would be Firefox handling the paste function, if Word, then Word and so on.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Try using this place as your main browser,it's like Firefox and IE rolled into one,and it's also much faster as well.
