Asda home delivery

Received our shopping the other day, and after been caught out once before, thoroughly checked the receipt; only to find out that about £36.00 worth of shopping had been listed has "delivered" but we hadn't received them! Just a word of warning really to check the list carefully. They did deliver the goods the next day, but I wanted a jacket potato for my tea and they didn't send the spuds!!!

I got my first home delivery from Asda on saturday. I had booked a 2-4 slot in the afternoon. It wasn't ideal as it meant hanging around on a Saturday afternoon but I had promised the kids we would go swimming as soon as the shopping arrived. It was ten to five when the shopping finally arrived which didn't make a particularly great first impression. Then some of the fruit was already rotten. I had ordered asda's omega three vitamins for the kids as they were miles cheaper than the ones I usually buy but when I read the ingredients (not published on their web site) they included aspartamine, other sweeteners and gelatin - none of which I would feed to my kids. Worst of all I didn't have any of the bread or bakery stuff I had ordered for the whole week although it was on the delivery note. When I rang Asda homeshopping they refunded the delivery charge (£5), the cost of the vitamins (£5), the value of the fruit (£2) and got in touch with the store (eight miles away) who sent a driver out with my bakery stuff (as it was by now about six o'clock on a Saturday they had to substitute virtually every product with a more expensive one at their expense - about another £4 worth). I had got a ten pound discount off the shop in the first place too.
I think Asda redeemed things well and showed far better customer services in dealing with my issues than I would have expected. Sad that they can't get it right in the first place which would have made a far better impression overall and would have allowed my kids their swim that day.
Can't help wondering if a lot of orders end up like mine how they can possibly make any money out of their customers?0 -
Sounds like you got a pretty good deal out of them in the end!Weight Loss - 102lb0

Agreed and like I said I think they redeemed the situation really well. However the whole process from the two o'clock start of the delivery slot to the bread finally turning up was 4.5 hours. Could have gone round the shop about ten times. If they'd got it right to start with it would have been much less remarkable, more expensive for me and consequentally profitable for them and I would have been much more inclined to use them again.0
