I never understand why people working in shops get annoyed about stuff like this. What difference does it make to them...

The ladies in our local Thorntons were only too pleased to give us the chocs. We got the impression we were the first people they'd seen with a voucher (at about 12.00).

We were lucky that I'd spotted the offer on the Telegraph when they were doing the review of the papers on Breakfast telly this morning. We normally have the Telegraph on a Saturday, but I don't think we'd have been paying so much attention to finding the coupon and it's redemption details, before we left Tesco. We are lucky there's a small Thornton's inside a Clinton card shop about 3 doors down from Tesco. I don't know we'd have bothered going back out again if we'd gone home first.

Had to buy some pens to fill out the coupon though so my free chocs cost 95p, but came with 6 BIC biros! :rotfl:

Bought my paper, only just managed to get to the Thorntons in Norwich (well I tried both) - but all gone.

Never mind, better luck next time!
    Thanks any way OP.

They probably expected the offer to get people into the shop and then for them to buy some more stuff when they collect the free chocolates and no one is doing this, as I cant see another reason for Thorntons giving away boxes of chocolates at what is usually one of their busiest times of the year.

Im sure you dont need to give your bf two boxes either, would I be right in guessing one is for you tonight! ;)

Nah, unfortunately, im dieting. The other box is for my mate, she giving a box to her bf too :) But she was busy at home today to go into town so got one for her as well. Arn't i a nice friend :A

Got mine this morning at the Thorntons at Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.

I got the last box and the staff there were very rude and stated they didn't want to be a part of this offer!

Pity for them really because I had other things I was going to buy while I was in there but they lost the sale

I was late getting to town today. Thorntons were lovely, stamped my token and said I could come in Thurs, Fri or Sat to get a free box as they had run out. Holland and barret, where theoretically I could have got 'californian prunes' with an express token, would not do anything. And their token said you could take it in tomorrow. They even had similar sized bags of regular prunes that were cheaper, but there was no flexibility.
  • Really pleased I found out about this offer. On my lunch today I just wondered into Thornton's, thinking of getting something cheap for OH for Valentines. Overheard someone asking about the voucher, so I popped across the road to WHSmith and bought the paper and went back. They were all sold out, said they'd given away more than a hundred boxes. They were very nice though, stamped my coupon and I can go back after Thursday.
