Help - re NPB dispute

Ok, so an american bidder bid on one of my items.
As I had not stated the postage cost to the USA, I emailed them whilst they were the highest bidder to say that the postage would be very high due to the weight and size of the item. I had no response. The bidder was then outbid by A UK Bidder. Then at the last minute, placed a bid.

After sending an invoice and getting the correct postage cost from the PO after I parcelled it up. I got two emails saying he didn`t want it, and had presumed the transaction was cancelled because the postage cost was to high.

I filled a NPB alert on ebay and we have been communicating through that. It goes as follows: NAMES CHANGED !

US BIDDER: 04-Feb-06 at 16:22:01 GMT

i was very clear I THOUGHT that the shipping was way to high and didnt want to purchase item i tried
to retract bid and ebay wouldnt let me do to that reason of shipping cost

Buyer has indicated they will not be paying for the item. Buyer was contacted before auction ended
to point out that postage would be high due to being international and the item being heavy. Buyer
continued to bid. Would like to reclaim my listing and final value fees.

US BIDDER: 04-Feb-06 at 13:05:48 GMT

i told seller shipping cost were way out of line way prior to end of auction and i wasnt interested
in the item. shipping cost were more then the purchase

I have the option to close the dispute, but am totally bamboozled about this. I want him to have a strike, I want to be able to leave neg without retailiation and I want my fees back !
I have been given the following options:

Close this Dispute

You can close this dispute if

- You and the buyer are satisfied

- You don't want to communicate with or wait for the buyer

- You both agree not to complete the transactions

- Buyer returned the item

As this is the first time ive done this, I want to get it right !

Can Any pro ebayers help??

Hi, use the option jaffa said
You don't want to communicate with or wait for the buyer

...........I don't sell anywhere out of the uk cos of the problems!! If you don't want anyone to bid from america you can choose the option when you are listing. If you do want to sell international then cover yourself by saying "international bidders please contact me for P&P before bidding" ....or something like that!

For future options, go into your eBay options and block any bidders registered in countries that you don't ship to. That way, if you haven't listed US postage costs, US bidders can't bid. As simple as that. :)

As others have said, use this option. :)

You will be able to leave a negative, and you'll get your fees back, but unfortunately they will still be able to leave you a negative too. As I understand it, they are only barred from leaving a negative if they do not respond at all to your NPD.

I noticed about blocking certain bidders ie: international, with strikes etc.

    Have now done that !

Have gone for the `You don't want to communicate with or wait for the buyer` route !

    Cheers guys !
