    Well you would say that geoffky cos you reckon the sky is falling in every day.
    The fix option clearly means you don't need to think about 8% for a long time.

    I think 5-5.5% is the historical average even if you include the stupid highes of the 70's and 80's
    Yes belive it or not the last 40 years interest rates have been abnormaly high not low like some like to make out on here.

    Different monetary systems, very hard to make a fair comparisons.


    So you it is more global now so you could argue that the 70's and 80's are also irrelevent?

    I thought it was still the £ and the BOE though.;)
