Fidelis Investments

I did a survey online recently and mentioned that I would be interested in making an investment of £500 or above. Following on from that I have been called twice by a gentleman offering to give me some opportunities to get some money in early in stocks/shares etc. I have tried to research this company but can't find a great deal about them. I'm sure someone out there will have first hand experience so any info at all would be very welcome.

    Fideli...ty?

    http://www.fidelity.co.uk/ maybe them?

Doubt they call people asking to invest their money, sounds like a scam.
  • I think it might be but I wanted some less bias view of their services if possible.

There is a scam circulating naming a company called Fidelis which you can read about here.

If it's not them then you need to provide us with full details of this company, then we (or you) can look it up to see if they are registered with the FSA.

Speaking frankly, however, you would be mad to ever go with a company just because they cold called you. Pick your own and consider discount brokers.
  • I actually have very little info, this is why I'm trying to check them out. I was called by them because I clicked a lnk on an ASDA website. I expect it's too much to ask but I would have hoped ASDA would have checked them out before having their customers ripped off. Their website is www.fidelis-swiss.com which is pretty limited but who knows.

Cold calling with investments should be considered a no no. You should automatically be on guard and work on the assumption that it is a scam.

Amazingly little info on them and their web site is skimpy to say the least.

They are not registered with the FSA, instead all their contact details are Swiss.

I discovered one site on ther internet where somebody was complaining (link may not work as it is a Google cached page) they invested with a company called IMS who turned out to be a boiler room scam. Another poster said:
Hi i also have been conned but would like to warn others i rec'd a call from another company in Switzerland who advised me that IMS were a reputable company and I was too listen to what my advisor told me.... they must be in on the scam as well there web site is info@fidelis-swiss.com
the guy who advised that my shares were good and said he had done checks on this Mark katz was frederickgunn@fidelis-swiss.com

So either they were in on the scam or their "research" isn't worth a damn.

Stick to a UK company who is registered with the FSA.
  • My money will be going elsewhere.
  • I was also contacted several times by Fidelis Swiss, they were quite pushy and I hate to admit I was almost taken in by them. My husband checked this site for information on them and luckily found this forum. I mentioned the points raised here to the guy, who up until this point had been calling me every day for several days and bombarding me with investment information, strangely enough he never called back! Thanks to all here for saving me from a scam!
