Ruddy Machines

New Egg Blue arrived this morning and I was all ready too start spending on it and put the cash in the bank too earn some interest.

One problem its chip and pin enabled and the pin number is not one too my liking.

I took it too a machine so I could change the pin, puts card in, gives it the current pin then slowly the machine says checking card, then asks me what I want to do, I press pin services, it the goes slowly again and crashes.

Have you ever seen a cash machine rebooting? I hadn't till today. And the sodding thing kept me card, less than an hour I had it!

For the record the machine uses windoze NT and the card bit is based in DOS.

Egg are sending me a new card.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

Strangely (perhaps), something very similar happened to me when I tried to change the PIN on my new Nationwide card. Have now got a blue Egg card on the way so will see if I have the same problem..!

    I think we're beginning to spot a pattern ;)

Nationwide said to use one of their own machines to change the PIN. Do Egg say you can use anyone's?

It's an awesome sight isn't it? Saw it at Bristol Airport a few months back, fortunately it was someone else's card it happened to, not mine.
