Virgin Media 30p internet access and free phones

I will be giving up my work mobile next month and adding to my Virgin Media "M" bundle of broadband, landline and TV with a mobile.

Three questions.
1. Has anyone been hit badly in the last two months it has been running by exceeding the limit for the 30p per day internet and e mail access?

2. I will need to get a mobile and the free mobile with the £14 and £18 tariffs look attractive but I suspect I will be using 400 minutes of air time per month rather than the 150 or 200 minutes on those tariffs so is it worth it?

3. If I buy a mobile, can anyone give me a recommendation on one that has proved effective with e mail and fast internet access?

there was at least one customer who assumed there was no fair usage policy & decided to use their mobile as a modem for their laptop - they proceeded to download movies & music & watch streamed TV, iplayer etc - thinking it would only cost 30p per day. Their charges, as you can probably imagine, were massive.

i believe 400mins & 700texts for £15 is pretty good - but you should listen to what others say as I work at virgin & so am not impartial
