Can't transfer funds from bank account to paypal

I like to keep some money in my paypal account and have always paid for purchases using funds held in my paypal account. Over christmas it has emptied and so I tried to transfer some funds. My bank account is confirmed so clicked on the add funds from bank account.
2 weeks late I noticed it had failed. Also paid for an auction using bank account funds for £8.00. This also failed. So they charged it to my credit card. There is plenty of money in my bank account so why is it failing.
Despite 4 emails to paypal I am still no further on. They tell me there can't have been enough money in my bank account. Jokers!!!!
My bank say I need to set up a direct debit. Paypal say I don't because my account has been confirmed.
Please can anyone help. At the moment the only way I can pay for purchases is on my creditcard and I don't want to do this.

There is no problem when I transfer funds the other way, from my paypal account to my bank account.0 -
Try using your debit, cash point card for your bank account to pay for items, then the money will be taken out of your bank account as you want.Cashback sites are worth it:
GP Cashback- £50 (£35 paid)
PigsBack- £5.00 (£30 paid)
Topcashback- £40 (£40 paid)
Quidco- £50 (£43 paid)
Ipoints- 500 + 2 CDs claimed0 -
It could also be a problem at your banks end...so try ringing them and see if they have any problems at the moment with money being transferred through PayPal.
Other than that it would probably be best to give PayPal a ring, as you're likely to get a slightly better answer than those given by e-mail, which really annoy me as they're all bog standard responses to any question! :mad:Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0
