in Credit cards
Hi, when we got our mortgage with Northern Rock 9 years ago, we took out a credit card.
A couple of years ago, the handling of the credit card was undertaken by the Co-operative bank, although card and statement still had NR on and no other changes.
In november gone, I happened to notice in tiny tiny writing the words 'As you no longer have a NR mortgage your interest rate will increase from 0.624 to 1.313'. We wrote a letter to Co-op stating we did still have a NR mortgage, but I have just noticed that on my last statement and the previous one that the interest rate did indeed go up and the words Northern Rock no longer appear on the statement. When I checked the credit card this also no longer says NR on it (new one received October last year).
We rang Co-op and they said it was NR who had not informed them. Rang NR this morning, and was passed on to a manager who new how to deal with it. She told me she would need a couple of details and that there was a department dealing with it, saying 'everything was running smoothly until a couple of months ago' . I asked if the problem was just a communication problem, but she did not really seem to say what the problem was or whether this department could sort it.
Anyone else had similar problems with NR/Co-op cards or heard of anything that might explain this?
