You need to see your GP. How are you managing to see an orthopaedic surgeon to arrange hip replacement but not your GP?
It is very very dangerous to take someone else's prescribed medication. Doctors prescribe solely on the basis that they can monitor the patient whilst taking the medication. Your GP could help with your problems.0 -
i did see doctor to tell him about my hip and i was only in there a minute ,he just referred me to my surgeon who decided i need a new hip.. i,m only 41 and they don,t like to do them on someone who is this young he thinks i definetly need it done now0

I would imagine that your GP would find it very difficult to give an accurate assessment of your problems if he isn't aware of them. Could you ask him to visit you at home or perhaps have a telephone consultation?
Do you have regular prescribed medication? My GP insists on seeing me every six months whether I need it or not because I have medication on a repeat prescription basis.0 -

Is it possible you could make an appointment and get in to see your Dr before he sends the report off? Without seeing you, s/he will have no idea how bad things have become for you, and this may be reflected in the report s/he does for the DLA. Are they writing to your consultant as well?
And I agree with Krisskross, you shouldn't be taking medication meant for other people - plain and simple, it's dangerous.
Could you go to the Dr with your partner so you have their support, but can tell your Dr yourself what you are going through, and possibly get better pain medication? The problem as many people know is that second hand information is not as good as seeing and hearing directly from source.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Hello Shely33,
I think you need to realise that it's in your best interest to get and see your GP as soon as possible.
Sit down with your partner, and write down for your doctor, all the things about your condition, that you feel he should know. Take it with you, if only to save the doctor writing it all down.
If by going to see your GP, it helps the DWP make a positive decision, it will be a weight off your mind.
Far better to do this, than need to progress the application to appeal, and you will really need to attend that.
Make the appointment, and you will be over this hurdle.
As krisskross and Merry_Gentry have said, you need to re establish contact with your GP, and have a review of your condition, and get you on the correct medications,
Hopefully, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment if you can do this,
Good Luck,

You really should pluck up the courage to go to your doctors, he cannot know how ill you are without seeing you. He may be able to help you with the pain, with physio or prescribed painkillers, Get your partner to go with you and apart from the physical pain you are in you also need to explain the panic attacks and also that you have an irrational fear of going to the doctors or is this a general fear of going outdoors.
You must be prepared to help yourself before you expect other people to help you.
Go for it, you wont regret it. sorry if this sounds sharp, it isnt meant to be,
just like all the other posters, trying to give you the motivation to get help for yourself. There really is no need for you to live like this.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
