How long for mortgage offer?

We have had our offer accepted on a house we love and all the solicitor's searches are underway. The house has been removed from the market for us.

We had a mortgage agreed in principle which we have now amended to the (lower) purchase price we got it for.

We have delivered all our documents and ID to the mortgage advisor, so how long should it take now to get the actual mortgage offer through? And then how much further time before exchange and completion?

I don't wanna start getting too excited if it's still all a while off!

    Hi,

    Mortgage offer average 2-3 weeks,

Exchange average 10 weeks with completion 1-2 weeks after

Depends on the chain and situation of the person you are buying from.

    Hope this helps

I think we are in week 18 since finding the house we want...

Once the house was valued/surveyed we had our offer within 2 days! that was the xmas week too!

But we had applied for the morgage around the 11th nov.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

Quickest I have managed this year so far is 5 days from application to offer (including survey), quickest ever was 3 1/2 days.

The general average though is approx 3 weeks, shouldn't really take nay longer unless it's a complicated case.
