Copied CD's from Ebay

I bought a set of CD's from ebay from a seller with 99.6% +ve feedback. I paid a reasonable price but when the goods were received they were copied ones and not originals.
Scrutinising the original description, it didn't say they were originals but surely it isn't right to be selling copies.
Do I send them back? Ask for a refund? Complain to ebay? I haven't left feedback yet, nor has the seller. Despite a description of "immediate despatch after payment" it took a week and two reminders for the goods to be sent.
Not sure what to do next? Do I shut up and put it down to experience?

Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!

log into my ebay and on the left hand side there's a link 'Dispute Console' click this, and then link entitled 'Items Not Received or Not as Described' to report this. copies not allowed to be sold on ebay as are iin breach of copyright law. seller will probably be booted off.
as for getting your money back you can try puting a claim against the seller via paypal's dispute resolution centre (on website) although unless seller has funds in their account(and they may do -try) you won't get your money back(this is bitter experience talking now as per my thread below!!)I might be broke but happy but I'd happily not be broke!0 -

do as advised above, is really your best bet.
i think pepoole can get away with seling copies if they include a disclaimer on the description, something like "these are sold for back-up purposes only, assuming you have purchased the original" but even that seems like shakey ground.
im sure they cant get away with copies just by not specifing they are original.0 -
Contact the seller, explain and state you will return these for a full refund,
as will probably happen he/she will ignore you, so the Report the matter to ebay and open a dispute with Paypal (If paid by paypal).
But beware I have reported alot of sellers who have obvious copied cd's, dvd's and games for sale and ebay ignore the reports and allow the sellers to get away with it, eBay seem more interested in revenue than actually protecting people and stopping what could easily be organised crime.
I really have had it with eBay and there stupid answers to questions, I am looking at adding a auction site to my shop, maybe MSE Users would like a free area to sell stuff.

This isn't just just shakey, it's illegal, and also (not surprisingly) against eBay's rules.0 -

...before going for the neuclear option, contact the seller, explain the discs are illegal copies and you would like to return them for a full refund.
Agree to not leave feedback and call it evens.
I did this with an obvious youthful seller. I didn't get stroppy or obusive even when the youngster continued to insist they were "grey imports, not copies".
Eventually he reluctantly accepted them back and refunded me.
I think he had been conned into buying them.

a huge amount of cds and dvds are copies on ebay.
ebay are more concerned with their profits than who is selling what although they will do something of you report the seller to themThe curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0 -
i'd try to be 'nice' to them first like bernie says - pretend you were buying them as presents and that the standard isn't good enough for that. give them a chance to refund you, and when/if they don't take it, go for a dispute knowing you gave them the much easier option for you both already.:happyhear0
