Vista Issues?

My laptop came shipped with Vista Basic, however I have always used XP on it and never had any issues,

Today I reinstalled Vista, all drivers and updates, In the space of 2 hours I have had various problems, I.E 3 Blue screens of death then the laptop reboots and I got a message "Windows has recovered from a serious error" I have also had programmes stop responding, and items in the side bar stop working.

I have never had any issues like this with XP, what could be wrong?

have you been to windows updates

www.windowsupdate.com

and downloaded Vista service pack 1 , makes it more stable and remove a load of bugs

Can't remember, it doesn't give you long to write it down, it pops up, it checks hard disk or something and goes from 1-100% then reboots
