Help! Samsung monitor switches off

Hi

Synchmaster 2232vw samsung monitor when you switch it on it displays for 2 seconds then it goes blank?

The monitor is 6 months old and im lost without it as p.c is usless without monitor.

Any help much appreicated , many thanks in advance.

Can you check it on another computer? Sounds like it may be time to make use of the warranty though...

i would test it on another PC if you can, it may not be the moitor it could be the graphics card in the PC, the monitor detects the signal of the pc switching on but nothing after so goes back to standby. if you get the same problem on another pc then its the monitor.

6 month old return it to the place you bought it, the retailer is responsible for the first 12 months.

Hi is it the monitor shutting down or the pc? If its the monitor try a diff one to elimiate the video card, If its the pc check your cpu heatsink and fan.

Hi,
Its the monitor, the pc is fine, if you shine a torch at the screen you can see the desktop, im hoping samsung will do a quick repair, i checked out fixya and many people have had similar problems, but no obvious solution.
When the computer boots you see the screen normally for 2 seconds then it goes dark like its blank, but as i said the torch showed there is still a normal screen just very dark, from sitting in front of it it looks black.
Much appreciated for all your help.

The back light has gone or at least the power inverter. it is a simple fix if they have the part. If you have evidence of others then print it off and return it to the store for a replacement or refund as it can be classed as an inherent fault under the sales of goods act.
