Sat Nav maps

Hi

I have just bought a garmin nuvi 200w, just with UK maps.

We have now decided to go on holiday to florida and wonder if we can upgrade the sat nav with american maps, I found this link

and it says my sat nav is compatible, has anyone tried this, do I just put in the SD card into my sat nav and switch on????

The cost is £60 which is much less than hiring a sat nav in florida for 2 weeks.

Any help would be appreciated.

You would have to change the "Home" address temporarily, but apart from that, you should be ok to go. However I would be tempted to see if you could get a download version from the Garmin website, as that will invariably be cheaper than a media version. The price may be in dollars and again may still be cheaper than buying from the UK

Got A garmin 600 and went to florida in November. I Brought the same SD card and it was just a matter of putting card in slot and ,once out of car park,worked a treat. I did not even change 'home' just kept going back to the Hotel address in the history and selecting that

Well worth the money and really easy to use.
