ps3 internet security

How do i keep my ps3 virus free when accessing the web? i know it doesn’t use windows (linux I believe)
But is that good enough?
Is my BT router’s firewall an adequate amount of protection?


Also can’t get hotmail connected on ps3 even though I allowed cookies

The PS3 can't really get a virus, the linux OS inside it doesn't really have the ability to install or run anything other than what it's built for! I've never heard of a PS3 virus,worm, trojan, let alone seen a proof of concept one. You'll be fine!

As for hotmail, it is now impossible to access hotmail from the PS3 when Microsoft upgraded it to Windows Live

There is some sort of anti virus option on the PS3 (Well there was when I first got mine, not really looked to see if its still there as I never bothered with it)

I don't have a PS3 but looking at the PS3 information that anti virus option isn't really a virus scanner but a security monitor, which blocks phishing sites and !!!!!! sites etc. See http://webclassify.trendmicro.com/faq.aspx for more info

i believe that is just a parental block to stop/block specific websites as opposed to an anti-virus.
Also its only free for a couple of months (as always)
