high pressure taps

Does anyone know of a way to deal with high pressure basin taps fitted "by mistake". We ahve just had a shower room re-fitted at considerable cost and specified particular taps to match other accessories. Now that the plumbers have finished (6 months on) we find that there is little hot water from the sink. The reason is that we have a low pressure system but the taps are American high pressure only. Plumber claims they were told that taps would work!
Is there any way out of this - other than changing the taps?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Could you not fit an adjustable (old fashioned lol) stoptap to the tap & therefore by turning the flow down increase the pressure? - I know nowt about plumbing BTW so check if I'm right before you buy anything lolI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0
