Advice needed on Washing Machine, Dishwasher and Tumble Dryer

Hi,

We are moving to our new rented house in a few weeks time. Unfortunately the place only comes with a cooker and fridge/freezer, therefore we require washing machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer (ideally). I have been looking around a few sites and on comet clearance for ideas. I do not want a Beko or Indesit machine as problems in the past. We cannot really afford all three appliances at once so just thinking of washing machine and dishwasher to start with. Any ideas or advice where to look ideally would like a Hotpoint or Bosch machine, but will consider other options.

    What's your budget? I have this: http://www.sainsburyskitchenappliances.co.uk/Product_Information.aspx?BackLink=Product_Listings&ProductID=7356&ProductCode=WAS28466GB

Which is by no means the cheapest Bosch but it has been fab so far. 1400 spin is GREAT to have if you're not going to get a tumble dryer :)

Do you have to buy them all new? The only reason I say this is that we move a lot and needed all 3 appliances. I bougnt a hotpoint dryer from John lewis, but bought a hotpoiutnWM & DW on ebay. A year later they are still going strong, weve just replaced the belt on the WM for a tenner. The DW was 45 quid and the wm was 40!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Hi, thanks for replys. It would be nice if we can buy them new just can't be 100% sure that used products are reliable and working etc. I would say 600 pounds for the lot or less if possible, is that unrealistic?
  • Don't buy hotpoint/zanussi w.mach or dishwasher.
Have had both, w.mach the lifters fell off every spin cycle and the dishwasher, the pegs holding the shelves fall off every wash.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

    Hi

    I posted this just yesterday:

Only for the dryer, but it'll maybe help!

    Good luck with it all,

£600 for 3 new appliances is totally unrealistic if you want decent ones. A decent WM will be around £250- £300, a DW similar, TD less if you can use a vented one. I think you will need at least £750 for all 3.

I would get the WM and drier first (since it's winter) and save up for the DW.

Do you really need the dishwasher now? Granted its a nice luxury, but hardly a necessity. If I were you I'd see the order of importance as washing machine -> dryer -> dishwasher.

I've a Zanussi washer dryer, and its tops. Been working faultlessly for four years now.

Looking at the reviews on that site, a few seem to mention the continuous beeps at the end of the cycle - something that annoyed me.

That was until I discovered how to turn them off. ;)
Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.

Hi, thanks for the replies, maybe I was being unrealistic but was budgeting at 600 for the two so far really. I have been looking on ebay etc for DW have many people bought them off there or bought them new?

Also do you think a washer dryer is better than a separate washing machine and tumble dryer?
