Roof on extention

We are buying a 1930s bungalow. Originally it was built in the shape of an upside down T, then in the 1960s a flat roof extention was added to the left corner thus making an L shape. Hope you still with me! We want to fill in the other corner with an extention making a square.
The main problem is that the 1960 extention was built with a flat roof. the original with an apex. I am not sure what type of roof to use on the new extention, any Ideas? I am not keen on flat roofs and would love to replace the whole of the back roof with one apex, but that would be costly and would prob blow the whole budget. An apex next to an apex would require a gully where they meet and possible leakage problems.
Any advise would be gratefully received.
