You can download a 15 day trial version of Nero from their website here. I think there may be some restrictions as to what you can actually do with the trial though.

  • what is this softpedia meant to be?

Is everything on there free and is it all the full versions?

  • You should try 'DVD Fab 5' then 'Handbrake' (Google them). Both are free, and 'DVD Fab 5' is more up-to-date than 'DVD Shrink'.
  • as someone who used to swear by nero, i can tell you here and now that it is completely unecessary if you're just after simple burning.

deepburner is free (there's a paid version if you want extra features)

    http://www.deepburner.com/?r=download

it does all the basics you'd likely need - data dvd's/cd's and ISO images as well.

bear in mind that dvd decrypter is technically illegal - i know that lightning uk was hit with a lawsuit over it many years ago. it's still widely available though, and you can also use it in conjunction with dvd shrink to burn iso's as well.

It's a decrypter, but it works with more recent, erm, releases, such as those from the small rodent with the big ears that DVDShrink can't do.
