I wanna toilet!!!!!

We want to buy just a toilet, plain white, preferably modern looking, anyone know the best place to buy one fairly cheap, they seem to be almost as much as a full bathroom suite

have you checked in homebase, they go quite cheap every so often and they sell them seperately there in a sort of 'basics' range- we got our entire bathroom from there for less than £200.

Try B&Q, I see they have some toilet bases (pans) online starting around £80 and cisterns to match for about another £80.

  • might also be worth popping into b & q if you have one local, ours had some reduced in the clearance sale, but i guess you just have to land lucky if they have any in your local store.

We got a really good deal from Willbond in Nottingham who are a plumbers merchant, so you could look for something similar locally. Most will accept non-trade customers & are usually up for a bit of haggling.
  • I bought my new toilet off of Ebay - the seller had changed their mind over a new cloakroom. If you look on there, there are a lot of sellers/shops that sell new items (I don't think I'd fancy a second hand loo!)
  • Try a plumbers merchant. Look on Yell.co.uk for your nearest branch of one of the big chains like PlumbCenter, Travis Perkins or PTS. Give them a ring, they often have special offers which are far cheaper than the DIY chains. The staff are usually pretty helpful, especially if you visit outside of the peak hours - avoid 1st thing in the morning, lunchtime and late afternoon.
  • i would go with what matlock says above. plumbers merchants are by far your best bet. my brother works at Plumbstop (who are national, maybe one near you -see their website) he has excess stock left over from a contract and where they can sell the excess off cheap. i've just got a toilet for £18, a cistern for £18 and a nearly free basin and sink and its the more expensive range than the one i initially asked him to get hold of for me! :j
