   :mad:but :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: at the same time.
S:rotfl: cenario: Went BR 21 Aug 2008 and included a $93 (sorry comp wont show pound sign) debt on BR petition, have constantley fought B Gas since then as they adjusted my prepayment meter to collect his debt and have been abusive each time Ive called.
Today received a letter from a DCA called Robinson,Way & Co Ltd of Salford stating that they had purchased the debt of BGas and the letter was full of the usual, we will send a local collector round etc blah bloody blah.
So rang Robinson,Way & Co on there freephone 0800 number(first DCA Ive come across with a freephone number ta very muchily) explained Bankruptcy scenario, and my number , date of, etc etc and said if youve purchased this debt of BG:rolleyes: as, I think matey youve been shafted as they knew full well this debt was unenforcable as it was included in my BR???
Nice gent said hmmm looks like it M/S AnnesWitterings, and once we confirm your name on Insolvency Register etc etc we will send a letter to say we are no longer persuing your for this debt and will be contacting BGas, hope they send them foul threatening letters to recover there money and threaten to send there local representative round...methinks not:p
British Gas are the pits in my opinion, Im putting $15 a week in my gas every week just to maintain hot water and very very limited central heating, and during the cold snap we have had the previous 3 weeks god knows how much I put in there in a useless effort to keep warm.
But was nice to be able to ping this debt back to BGas a small but good bit of light that goes to show that BR is good, so double fingered v sign to BGas, just wondering what there next move will be.
Can I ask to have my prepayment meters for Gas/Elec removed??? Ive no outstanding debt with them, or would it be cheaper to move utilities supplier and ask them to take out the meters, this an area new to me so any info/imput would be most gratefully received.

Good news that early discharge is in motion.

BGas are unlikely to allow you to move to normal meters without at least a deposit. cos they are poo.
You can move supplier and therafter get them to take out the meters. You may or may not get the same problem though. If you want to keep the meters, use Ebico.co.uk They do not charge for meters (BGas charge extra as do most others...) but compare the cost - you can do on their site. For me, they are still cheapest for gas (just) but not electric and I am not on a meter. And I was able to move to them after BR (but I had no utility debt in my BR)0 -
As far as your debt goes, my OR explained to me today that when a company sells debt to a collection agency, they do so in batches, containing some recoverable and some non-recoverable debts. That's probably what's happened here.0
