Am i going to embarrass her? We have just jumped round the living room to:
The Music Man
Superman
Agadoo
The Birdie Song
Star Trekkin
Wig Wam Bam
(anything Black Lace it seems)
I thought it would be fabulous to get the karaoke machine out at her birthday party and to get the girls (we're havin a pamper party) all singin and dancin to this lot.
Will it be embarrassing for her or are 8 year old kids still as enthralled by this kind of music as i was (or still am) ?

That sounds like great fun to me but I am a grandma so not sure if my opinion would be in tune with an 8yr old. But if my opinion does count then go for it big time it sounds like so much funNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

I agree with sethsgran ... at 8 you can get away with most things
my son is 6 and he loves nothing more than jumping around the living room with me acting the fool

Whilst I think they would think it fun, they would probably also be a bit embarrassed. Only reason I say so, is that my niece is 8 next week and is having her birthday party at home this year. She has asked me to help out with the games side of stuff and asked my DH to do some magic tricks (he only has two but to an 8 yr old that sees it year in, year out, she probably feels he has a bigger repertoire!). She came over last night and asked if he could come and show her his magic tricks so that she could see if he was good enough! He couldn't believe he was having to audition for a kids party. Lololololololol Try High School Musical, Hannah Montana or how about the Macarena (I know this is one she was thinking of) or the Ketchup Song (not sure if it has a dance). good luck.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0

Depends on the 8 year old I think - we often look up all the songs mentioned on you tube and have a crazy dance about (I've got girls of 9 & 7...and boys of 5 & 2 so quite a mixed range) However I know my 9 year old wouldn't do it in front of her friends.
Has she said what music she wants for her party? How many friends are coming? Once they get in the mood, perhaps just have the music on and let them see where they decide to 'go with it'
