hi, i have a sony cybershot dsc-f828 and when i turn it on the viewfinder is pale and flickery and you can hardly see the image you are trying yo take pic of..anyone know what prob may be or how to fix it..it takes pictures but then when i look at pic it is all white with fine lines going across with a faint view of the item i took..

could be the cable from the screen to the circuit board , there will also be an led which "backlights" the screen that may befailing

when i put the pics on my computer that i just took, they come out all pale as well

I had a sony cybershot camera, not sure if it was the exact one as yours and it did the same for about a day then it stopped recognising the memory stick in it, it wasn't the memory stick as I could put it in my printer and look at the pictures stored on it. and the last few pictures looked overexposed or yellow.
I ended up throwing it away as I tried resetting it and it made no difference and the last camera I had that broke,The camera shop wanted £50 to look at it which they would knock off any repairs, but they said the chances of being able to fix it was slim.

if it's not a technical fault, it might possibly be the exposures. sorta sounds like its underexposed. dunno exactly but try taking it to a camera shop and asking them to help you. my mum did this in jessops when hers broke and they were very helpful.
