Hi
I often get requests to send items to Dublin or other parts of Ireland, the last I heard was that paypal protection for sellers was not available outside the UK. So no cover in the EU - is this still the case?
Or can I send as long as its a confirmed address?
I guess the same goes for the rest of Europe as well - Ive tried to find out via paypals "help" section but not getting very far!
cheers

There is as much cover outisde the UK as there is inside the UK as long as the transaction is marked with full seller protection, realistically that means selling to Europe and the States and possibly avoiding some of the less developed countries.. The reason many people choose not to sell overseas is the costs of tracking can be very high and that means getting a lot less for your item once buyer sees how much they are paying for shipping.
It doesn't bother me much though as I don't use tracking for items under £36 so am happy to sell all my low end (ie under £36) at least to Europe and the States and use standard airmail. That way I am still covered against loss in the post which is really all I am worried about.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. thanks for that, so shipping to Dublin is ok to a confirmed address is covered as much to shipping to a confirmed London address etc.
However on none of my recent paypal transactions have I seen this tick that is supposed to prove that its ok to send an item - didnt something come in about sending to unconfirmed addresses?0 -
No need to send to a confirmed address anymore, you just need the transaction eligible for seller protection. Even that only matters if you are sending items fully tracked of course.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Again it all depends on whether seller protection is available, I suspect not for Hungary. Also worth noting that you need to check the country against the Royal mail list for coutnries that have full tracking available. Not all signed for services are available in all countries.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There do seem to be some problems there yes. Trouble is we have to accept all of Europe or none at all which is a real bind.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
