Hi all,
I am new to this site and looking for a bit of advice. My husband and i are thinking of bancruptsy, we have spoken to a couple of debt lines already. As i am a student nurse they have advised us to find out whether bancruptsy will affect my training (as they are unsure) and my chances of future employment. Hope you can advise , didn't know who else to ask.

Hi newstudent. I can't completely clarify your question entirely. However, I am a Health Professions Council member planning on going BR. I contacted HPC and asked if BR would affect my professional medical registration. They quickly informed me that it would NOT affect my registration and that I needn't inform them when I have gone BR. I'm assuming nurses aren't members of HPC but Royal College of Nursing and therefore I assume you too should be okay. It would be very unfair if RCN members were penilised and HPC members wern't. I'm sure I've read a post recently with a student nurse asking same question and he/she was okay going BR. If you want to confirm it though I suggest you contact RCN and ask them. I'm pretty confident though you will be fine. Afterall, you don't deal with money, you're not a top brass manager and I bet there'll be a lot more nurses etc going BR this year.
Hope this helps.
Regards,

Hi and welcome newstudent. I agree with dubiousone - don't see how it could affect your job prospects. If you did go BR any student loan would still have to be paid so would think you wouldn't have any problems. Do contact RCN as advised above and please come back and confirm what they say.
