Staining/refurbishing a teak table.

Does anyone have any experience, suggestions or advice for refurbishing a teak table in order to return it to its original darker colour?

We have an 30 year old Nathan teak dining room table. It is made from solid woods and teak veneers of a quality that is hard to get today without spending over £1000 or more.

It is in very good condition but it has faded over the years from sunlight.

We would like to refurbish it and bring it back to its original much deeper and darker teak colour.

It is circular and extends to an oval with a hidden centre section. Because this centre section is normally hidden, that has faded far less and the table now looks a bit odd when extended.

The picture below of a very similar table shows the problem. I found it online and using it saves me taking a picture of mine.

All comments and advice about sanding down and preparation, type and brand of stain to use etc would be welcome.

Thanks
